Dual Xeon question

If I use a molex to 8 pin EPS power would it work the same as a regular EPS connector?

you can go with two PSUs

If you are having to power anything of a molex that should be powered with a different connector you should really consider getting a new psu.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Im looking on other forums and people are saying the maximum wattage from molex is 132 watts so would using and adapter to power a cpu with a 120w tdp be ok?

It may be ok but you are probably better of getting a new psu.

My other option is an EPS splitter. If this would work better i would use this$_57.JPG

You should never use any of those adapters. The adapters themselves can be flaky sometimes, but the biggest concern is your PSU. Any PSU that doesn't have the proper connectors is probably quite old/not powerful enough to handle the task at hand and should be replaced.

Yes, they're both 12V. Technically molex does deliver less power but it's not the end of the world if you're not OCing. If you can find a dual-molex to EPS then you're set.

Any PSU that doesn't have the proper connectors is probably quite old/not powerful enough to handle the task at hand and should be replaced.

That's a rule for graphics cards, not CPUs/mobos, especially when all you want to do is run a server board with a regular desktop PSU.
