970 sli or 980

King_Gamma

What would be the best configuration for the Acer XB270HU 1440p g-sync monitor? 2 way sli 970s or a single 980.

What kind of frame rates should I expect from these configurations?

SLI 970

FPS depends on the game and setting.

My vote goes to the 980.

why? 970 sli is much faster, only get the 980 if you know that you are gonna a 2nd one down the road and do 4k gaming

4 way Titan X

This isn't Off-Topic

I would go with a Single 980 but if you want to be Over Kill you could get a TitanX

Because he had a hard drive.

SLI 970.. The performance of a single card is pretty close to the 980 for those games that don't support it but for those that do you will have significant benefit.. If it were 980 to TitanX, I'd go TitanX.. Much larger difference in single card performance.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..

You'll never see me recommend the 970 as long as retailers still advertise it as a normal 4GB card.

Would sli 970s performance be limited by the slower 500 mb of memory at 1440p?
