Cheapest build to run GTA V on 1600x900@60fps stable

I am currently running 2 HD7770 1GB in Crossfire with an Core i3 4130, 8GB RAM. I get 20-30 fps stable running GTA V at 1280x720 with everything low except shader and texture on a 1600x900 monitor.

I am wondering what upgrades or build I can do in the cheapest way possible (on a budget  ) to get a stable 60fps @ 1600x900 on highest GTA V graphical settings.

The CPU is probably the biggest bottleneck; the GPUs are over the minimum requirements.

Go for an i5-4440 or equivalent.

Buy an R9 280 and you should be okay, especially if you're okay with turning some settings down. That 1GB VRAM buffer is a killer, and GTA V stutters with dual GPU setups.

No.....GTA 5 is more of GPU Optimized, and @XTankSlayerX runs GTA 5 fine on a Ivy Bridge i3......

You'd just need to upgrade your graphics card to something along the lines of a 270x, 280, or 760.

The 4130 should already be fine for 60fps: http://www.techspot.com/review/991-gta-5-pc-benchmarks/page6.html

You should upgrade your cpu to an i5 (4440), then if you still get problems you should sell your gpus and get an R9 280 or a 960 (whichever is cheaper for you).

-edit-

actually the gpu gets the priority

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

gta v is one of the few games where FX cpus beat i3s. An i5 should make a difference.

But the GPU requirement is a 9600GT...

So..GTA 5 supports DX 10.....so that's why the GPU requirement is low(to DX10 cards).

Since when were advertised game requirements relevant?

Because I would assume they wouldn't say it would work on a 9600GT if it actually needs a 660.

Power Supply Size?

550w

based on this link -> http://www.techspot.com/review/991-gta-5-pc-benchmarks/page6.html

FX CPUs performed worse than i3

According to Rockstar, the recommended specifications are based on hardware that can run the game at 1080p, at 60 frames-per-second. For that, Rockstar suggest a Nvidia GTX 660 2GB or AMD HD7870 2GB. Copied from PC Gamer

I would like to know 60fps at what settings though, hopefully not the lowest

The VRAM on your GPUs are quite a bottleneck, I'd suggest upgrading from those to something like a 270x or even a GTX 960 4GB to max out the game. The i3 you have should be fine for this game, I have a weaker processor (but a quad core) and graphics card than the ones I mentioned above, yet I can run the game on Med-High at 35-55fps depending on the time of day and weather conditions.
