Wat, overclock too high?

Tried to overclock again after putting it back at stock speeds, loaded a previous profile and ran stress test with AIDA64 Extreme. Am I seeing things or does it say 5.2GHz O_O

 

EDIT1: Stress test has been ran for 30 minutes and system did not crash however, temperatures hit around 72 degrees on full load. This screenshot is just once I started it.

Could be as simple as the motherboard reading your current multi as the 'max multi allowed' but PC's are never THAT simple to let you know whats up

Pretty sure max TDP is also lower on a 4690k so it must br reading it wrong.

FYI - 4690 non-K is 84w seen via CPU-Z, don't know if the K-skew is the same though...

No, wait, sorry, indeed, newer i5s are a higher TDP than the Ivy Bridge that they replaced. My bad.

Bios is up to date, drivers are also up to date, nothing seems to be wrong with it, its idling at 35° C and stress test for an hr indicates 72°C, I had troubles crashing on MW2 and also The Crew but after the overclock,  everything seems to be fixed

When I was adding the multiplier, I think I was spamming up, then restarted it. What I'm confused is, does voltage go up by itself? I remember it being at 1.15v at stock, I've kicked it up to 1.3v for an OC of 4.8GHz.

it depends on the voltage setting in the bios as whether or how much it can go up or down by. that is a very strange problem you have there.

Is it possible I have won the silicone lottery? . I remember before I changed the cooling pressure and swapping fans, 4.9Ghz @1.3v, I won't be able to startup. This morning before I left the house,I ramped up my fans on the cooler on max and hit around 67° C. Before At 72° I was running both fans at 850rpm. I'm now running them at 1700rpm

Yea I've never seen any chip reported any higher than 4.9 tops
