Need suggestion regarding my PC rig update!

thespeedracer38

Hello guys, need your suggestion for my gaming rig update. Let me mention the things in my rig which I am not going to update.

2x2 GB Transcend DDR3 Ram
1xCorsair VS650 PSU
4x2 TB HDD
1XATX Case
2xASUS & Liteon DVD Reader/Writer

1x Samsung 1600x900 monitor (Which I am not thinking of changing any time soon)

So, that leaves me with the graphics card, processor and motherboard. BTW I have Intel DH55TC, it does support i5,i7 in the LGA 1155

package but I don't want intel any more and that too the newer generation CPU's require socket LGA 2011 and the chipset X79.
What I have on my mind are two specific upgrades. And please do take in consideration that I'm a cheap ass and lieks to spend more on the

graphics card rather than on CPU, keeping in mind that CPU doesn't bottleneck any of my components. I have approx Rs. 23k (US $373.11

nearly) as budget. And another thing that you must take into consideration is that I want to future proof for at least 5 years.
So, I'm thinking of two specific upgrades

First thought:-
1xBiostar G41 MOTHERBOARD WITH INTEL CHIPSET ( LGA 775 SOCKET + DDR3 SUPPORT ) - Rs. 2,300.00
1xLGA 771 XEON X5460 - Rs. 2,541.45 (US $39.51)
So, that leaves me with Rs. 18158(US $294.56) and with that I can purchase MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 costing around Rs. 16900 (US

$274.16 nearly) and I am left with Rs. 1258 and I can purchase a 2 GB Corsair costing Rs. 1540 by adding Rs. 282 extra.
(NOTE: I know what I am doing with a LGA 771 processor, and I have the necessary qualification to do a motherboard mod)

2nd thought:-
1xASRock 970 Extreme3 - Rs. 6985 (US $113.31 nearly)
1xAMD 3.5 AM3+ FX 6-Core Edition FX-6300 - Rs. 7,490.00 (US $120.04 nearly)
That leaves me with Rs. 8525 (US $138.29) with which I can buy only Gainward NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 2 GB GDDR5 worth Rs. 8900

(US $144.38 nearly) thus exceeding the price by Rs. 375.

So which one should I go for? What are risks of taking a XENON? Will it be a bottleneck to future games and to the graphics card or can I be

future proof for 4 years with a GTX 650? Please do give your suggestions!

nothing is future proof especially not the 775 platform that is very old now but it would be right to put your money on a gtx 960, 650 is a little weak and is 2 generations old already

Okay, what about the processor then? Will it be stupidity to invest on Xeon X5460 or should I go for FX-6300? And more over will Xeon X5460 bottleneck my GTX 960? P.S - I planning on running Unity and Unreal Engine on it.

My budget is Rs. 25000. That's all that I have. I have the Ram the Atx case and about the DVD drives I got 2 of them from a friend actually. Previously I needed to do a lot of Dvd copying stuff, that's why.

Okay, just tell me one thing that is Xeon X5460 is good enough not to bottle neck GTX 960 and is it still capable enough to run the future games for at least 3 years from now at decent frame rates (I don't mean 60 FPS, 30 - 45 FPS is good enough for me)?

what is is your specialization ? if it's lighting and shading get a quadros card, if for dynamics get 970 or 780ti , you don't need a xeon , get an i7 4790k

I'm sorry that I didn't mention it before, I'm a student and have just started to learn Autodesk 3DS Max, not Maya sorry. I am determined to purchase a Xeon X5460 with a LGA 771 to LGA 775 adapter and a LGA 775 Gigabyte G41 Motherbord or motherboards with any of these chipsets G31/G41/P31/p35/P41/P43/P45 because I can get all for as low as Rs. 6500 and can purchase a GTX 960 to be able to play games on my rig for at least 3 years without the need of a graphic card change. I know it has less CUDA cores but still it'll serve my purpose. So, is it a good decision or a stupid decision? Or should I increase my budget because any of these would not suffice for the work that I'm going to be learning?

that processor is crap for both 3ds maya and autodesk , don't except to work anything on a 6500 processor , you simply can't , if you are really interested in working in this field , you need to increase your budgetm , 960 is good for 3 year gaming at 720p medium settings

First thing listen to @ROHIT_kumar_sp second thing stick with the 1155 platform get a used cpu from local indian tech forums like erodov or techenclave .... get a r9 290 again from the same forums for around 21k or a 770 for 19k thats woould be the best way to go..... or you can find cheap processors from many distributors or retailer who have surplus stock left i have seen i7-920 going as low as 7k at a lamington road retailer

edit: @Rohith_Kumar_Sp

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I live in Kolkata, so I think I'd have to stick to Rohit Kumar's suggestion as for now!
