Is this a good £900 build?

Vidarus

So this is my first time building a PC and before i order the parts i wanted to know how powerful this system is and whether it would be able to run most new titles with high fps at 1080p resolution.

Here are the specs;

Any feedback would be appreciated alot. Thanks :)

The GTX 970 has a VRAM problem that doesn't allow you to use all of it. The R9 290 will perform the same, if not better at that res, and is much cheaper.

Also, I'd change the HDD to a WD caviar blue for more reliability.

True, but i have used seagate in all my PCs (OEM and custom)

In my Dell, the Seagate HDD has run for 10 years and is still running strong

It was a faulty batch that went wrong a few years ago, no issues with their current drives

And it is faster than the Blue, and is roughly halfway between a Blue and Black in terms of speed

Are you sure you don't want to get a 4770K? Seems like a waste with that Z97 board..... If you have any money left, get a 120 gb SSD

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Now you can SLI thanks to the beefier PSU. And you can also overclock the CPU thanks to the 4790k. Though an SSD wouldn't go amiss. If this spec is purely for a gaming PC, then drop the 4790k for a 4690k, and grab a decent but inexpensive SSD.
