dns forwarding not working

oliverjrose99

Hi

I have an apache2 server running on a raspberry pi with php proxy on it so I can access stuff at school. my school blocks most direct ip address requests so I need a domain name. I got a free .tk one and set The dns records to my home ip. I have port forwarding on 8080 to the pi but it isn't working. Any ideas?

Hi I'm guessing that you dont have a static ip for your home connection. In which case your ip could have changed.

Who ever your dns provider is, see if they do an automatic update script to up date their dns records. This way if your home ip changes it gets updated automatically. Also if you have just applied the DNS record it can take up to an hour for DNS to up date properly.
