Need help choosing nvidia card with build?

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

Thank you kind advisor.

Man, now I wish I can replace my motherboard. I paid my buddy 1000 for this pc five monthes ago.

It sometimes freezes on Ghost Recon Phantoms strangely......

So Gtx 980 is best for now? :( Hmmm...

Should I actually get a new CPU and motherboard? I get the sidestepping but I really want a good motherboard and I recently started searching myself -_-

I feel stupid for buying from a friend like that but then he hasnt done much research either.

I hear intel i7-4790k is really good with gtx 970 or gtx 980.

Don't bother going for a new CPU and motherboard now, it's not necessary just yet. First focus on getting a new graphics card. The GTX 980 is currently the best graphics card, but the R9 380X is likely to be announced within the next six months. According to rumors, it's supposed to edge out the GTX 980 by a good amount.

$1000 isn't the worst, but you could have done a little better doing a custom build. You didn't do too bad, so don't beat yourself up about it.

The whole Ghost Recon Phantoms freezing thing is something I wouldn't know about.

I have a similar question
I have an FX 9590 and i want to choose between GTX 970 and r9 290
The 970 is on offer and the price is only a little higher
The idea is to upgrade in 1,5 year by adding a second card to sli/crossfire
Any ideas ?
