Depends on how many games you are planning on playing, and if they are ~ 60GB or more, like BF4.

I recommend you swat either SSD out for a HDD, you are going to regret having less than 1TB of storage.

If I were you, I would keep the 512GB 840, and swap the 850 for a 2TB HDD, or 2 1TB HDD's.

I don't know if it would make sense to get a 850 series SSD over a 840, probably not.

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

Potential Issues/Incompatibilities

  • icon_warning_sgl.gifIntel Core i7-4930K 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor does not include a stock CPU cooler. Adding a CPU Cooler to your part list is recommended.

icon_info_sgl.gifSome Intel X79 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Ivy Bridge-E CPUs.

icon_info_sgl.gifThe Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2666 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Ivy Bridge-E CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

Because he had a hard drive.

That's the most pointless, overkill, waste-of-money build I have ever seen for pure gaming. Ditch the extreme i7, get an i5 4690k and an asus z97-a,  get an asus pb287q instead of the samsung monitor, ditch the two separate ssds (wtf) and get a single 1tb ssd, you only need 8gb of DDR3 ram, all those fans are useless, the psu is extreme overkill (850 watts would already be much more than you need) so get an evga g2 850watts instead, you don't need the sound card (the integrated one in the z97-a is perfectly good, if you want better sound get better headphones). And make sure you really want to watercool it, it's not an easy feat.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Well if he wants a Custom Water Cooling Loop you'd think he'd have the ability to know if he had enough space for games. I think he's just trying to brag or show off in someway an overkill rig.
