X99 GTX 980 SLI

Hi everyone!

Over the last few months I have been planning this computer build, it has gone though many changes thanks to you fine folks!

But then I thought, lets check out X99 :)

Budget:

Not really and issue, I am happy with the price this ends up, but if you have any way to cut out some $$$ while keeping the sameish specs let me know!!!

Aim:

Real video editing and creative solutions (not just youtube  ;) ) Gaming and normal use (web etc...)

Monitors:

Not sure yet, something by asus at 27/28" X3

os:

By the time I can by this rig, I'm about half way there hopefully windows 10 will be out and mostly bug free, if not 8.1 will have to do!

Last Thoughts:

So, will it work? I know almost nothing about X99, is the CPU a good choice? Will I need a better cooler? You guys know what you're doing, if you could make your own edit and post it below I would be so happy!!!

Thanks Guys

Jayden

Hey man nice build,

The reason I had 2X8gb ram was so I could upgrade to 32 If I wanted to. Whats the difference between the X99 Pro and X99 gaming? I mainly went with the Pro because of the white and Wifi? Also is that CPU any good? I really know nothing about X99 :D

P.S I have been in touch with pbtech about the previous version of there build and they gave me a pretty good price but would love to PM you about your "associate" ;)

Thanks

You know X99 usually has 8 DIMM (RAM) slots?  If you want WiFi, go for the ASUS motherboard, I chose the Gaming 'board just for the looks really... The CPU is the base one for X99 but it's still better than the i7 4790k for your uses - multi core performance.

What has PB quoted you on?

I haven't gotten a quote for this build, but for my the other one it was about $4000 (I have it written down but not with me right now :(

In your opinion is it worth the extra 400ish bucks?

Because you're video editing I'd say yes.
