I think yes, because it has to be translated twice into a wireless signal. On wired you go in the NIC and then into the chipset and on wireless Wireless chipset, Pcie and then the chipset. 

 

I am just guessing.

Just went out to get an ethernet cable because the curiosity was killing me, and this is what the results were:

So, a negligible difference, but Ethernet did feel a tiny bit more smooth and less jumpy from time to time.
