SP120 upgrade 350D

rjshield

I'm planning on upgrading the fans in my 350D to Corsair SP120.

I know I want SP series fans because

  • Restrictive front intake filter
  • Soon to upgrade to water cooling so will need SP for the radiators top and front.

I will need 5 fans total. My motherboard has fan 5 headers total, one 4 pin four 3 pin.

I could use the fan headers or get a powered 5 way PWM splitter (I know the CPU will use one header for now)

I am trying to decide what I should get.

  • Quiet or Performance
  • 3 pin or 4 pin PWM

If you'll use these fans on rads, go with the PWM version.

I used both and never had a problem

if you get the corsair sp120's, be extra extra careful when threading the rubber, hold it tight in your hand to keep it still, and prethread before the actual install......
