Teamspeak Server restrict channel to a few

MatazaNZ

Hi all, as the title suggests, I'm trying to restrict a channel on my private TS server to only a few people. I have password protected the room, but I have a couple of people set to admin/moderator so they can manage the server when I'm not there, but I don't want for them to be able to enter the room. But even with the password, they can bypass it and enter anyway. I've tried to create a new server group for them, but I can't find anything that allows them to bypass the password. If anyone could help me figure out how to restrict this channel to just myself and one or two other specific users on the server (unless I drag someone in as a guest), that would be very appreciated.

Setting channel join power (So admins and moderators can't join and for option B )

enable the advanced permissions system by going to Settings>Options>Applications>Misc>(check box)Advanced Permissions System and click apply.

Go to Permissions>Channel Permissions>The channel you want to restrict (in the left tab) >Channel>Access (right tab). There should be an option titled, "Needed Channel Join Power" click on the value and set that to any number above the admin value (by default it's 75). I suggest to change it to 80.

Option A: Allow access to all password protected channels

Either go to Permissions>Client Permissions and drag and drop their name onto the "Drag & Drop client here or enter Unique ID:" Text line, or right click on the person in Teamspeak, select permissions, client permissions, and it does the "dragging and dropping" for you. After that, go to Channel Permission>Access and select "Ignore Channel Passwords" and check off value and skip.

Option B: Allow access to only one password protected channel

Either go to Permissions>Channel Client Permissions and drag and drop their name onto the "Drag & Drop client here or enter Unique ID:" Text line, or right click on the person in Teamspeak, select permissions, channel client permissions, and it does the "dragging and dropping" for you. After that, go to Channel Permission>Access and select "Ignore Channel Passwords" and set the grant value to either the same as or greater than the one you did for the channel itself.

Well, on my TS server I looked into the same thing and found out how. Seriously, reading the documentation is a pain in the ass but helps so much. I suggest you do so, for now I'll give you the TL;DR on that specific feature you want.

  • Create a channel and set yourself as channel admin in it.
  • Once the channel is created, push the join permission to the highest level possible (for me it is 100).
(Don't actually change the Subscribe power, leave it 0)

  • Once that is done, have the specific people you want get on the TS Server, right-click them and select "Permissions > Channel Client Permissions"
(In this case, I want RIP to be able to join "The Hole")

  • Select the channel you would like them to have access to (Make sure channel selected is bold) and set their channel join power to be the same as the required join power for the private channel

  • You are done

EDIT: I just realized this is a necro'd post, w/e I'll still upload the images to help out others.

EDIT2: Added the images

While this was an old post, I still thank you both, as I can still make use of the information
