Best Free Antivirus

Im looking for the best free antivirus for my computer

Im running Microsoft security essentials right now.

The best free anti-virus is common sense.

 

But I use Avast for my system and Malwarebytes for other people's systems I work on.

Microsoft security essentials is outdated i use avast and malwarebytes

MSE is one of them and you already have it so that's a start, Malwarebytes is another good free one.

if you're not one to constantly download malware security essentials is all you really need, i have it and haven't had a virus in years

 

if you feel you still need a little more protection then go avast

Microsoft Security Essentials is not a secure anti-virus because it comes pre-installed on all Windows machines. This means it is one of the most popular (after all, every Windows machine has it) and is thus the one anti-virus that is constantly trying to be exploited and broken. Even Microsoft themselves has acknowledged this.

I use AVG 2015 because it affects performance the least when gaming and malwarebytes as an extra precaution

sounds like an Avast knock-off.... Avast is over 25 years old... idk about you but i know what im trusting...

The topic has already been answered but I figured I'd throw in my two cents, I use AVG running in the background which catches quite a bit of stuff, a few times I've clicked a facebook link and it stops me and says it is a malicious link and saves my facebook account. I have malware bytes installed but I use it mainly when I am doing a full scan, scanning with AVG and malwarebytes in safe mode gets almost ALL viruses, even nasty ones
