Website Design Program?

MrBubblez98
Go to solution Solved by Hazy125,

I personally find dreamweaver to be unnecessary lol

Notepad+++ was good enough for everything.

I like the auto close tag when you press '</' and all the ftp plugins I've used for notepad++ just plain suck in comparison to dreamweavers and I CBF transferring using another program. That's what I use dreamweaver for.

You'll have to pay if you want to use Squarespace sites hosted on your own computer. Dreamweaver can be used to design a whole website without coding, but to be completely frank, I cannot use it. I don't know how. It's probably easier to just learn how to code than learn how to not in dreamweaver. Adobe also has another application that can be used called Adobe muse. Never used it myself, I like coding everything myself, but apparently it's not too hard and a 30 day trial might be fine for you. Adobe's fancy muse site can be found here

Hey everyone,

For a school project we have to make a webpage for an awareness campaign. We're also allowed to create a fully functional website if we wish, which could give bonus marks, which I want to do. What I want to know is a good program that allows for people to design a fully functional website that can be easily hosted from my PC and can be connected to at my school. I do not want to code it, just design it and possibly allow for interactions, such as drop-down menus or different color buttons when hovering / clicking it. At school there's a program called Serif Web(something) X6 that I've tried out there, but it looks really confusing. If there are any other ones that are easier to use, please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Michael

How bout that?

Well I think you have an answer OP.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I find it nice to be able to see what it looks like while I'm working on it instead of saving looking opening a whole bunch

Thanks, everyone, for the quick replies. I don't want SquareSpace because that's not free and not a program. This is just a simple website for a school project, nothing very fancy, just some basic features, however the more, the better.

I would like to learn to code HTML and other common languages, but this is just for a small project due in a little while so there's no time to learn then make a website. I'll give Muse a try and see how it goes. If not I'll try the other free programs mentioned.
