shit, my mistake, his 980 has the old windforce cooler(dont ask i dunno how he got one with that) and as you can see there is little chance of a bigger cooler fitting

Both the Windforce and G1 are big cards. The MSI is shorter. I believe the ASUS Strix is also on a similar chassis as the MSI. Be careful with all of these cards. The power plug is on the rear instead of the side and you'll have to make allowances for that.

The Asus and MSi will definitely fit my case, but not having a backplate on the MSi and the fan and coil whine problems on both is putting me off those cards. The Zotac GeForce GTX 970 AMP Omega Edition looks like a decent card and also comes with a 5 year warranty. The only downside is that it takes up three slots.

That's a pretty good overclock. From what I've read it's on par with the Zotac AMP Omega edition.

yea i did alot of research before hand , my 970 refuses to go over 70c aswell lol

Well, if the 970 is 310mm long, and you fitted it in there, a 309mm long 980 Ti shouldn't be a problem either, should it? I am planning to upgrade to it from my Gigabyte GTX 970 Mini ;)

well my 970 was super super close to the case ( i got a bigger case ) 

 

just Google 980ti length (depending on what 980ti ) and maybe see if you can find someone that measured it properly , sometimes the manufactures over measure
