Grab a ruler. :P

G1 is 312mm which is a little over 12". It's a massive card.

Edit: Nope. Well, maybe if you remove the hard drive cage entirely and wedge it in, but you might be better off getting the Strix or something.

Yep, I edited to maybe, BUT it will be a tight fit and you'd have to remove the drive cages. It's possible with some extra work, but it's going to be working outside of recommendations. If you want the G1 badly, I hope you don't have drives in those cages or else you'd have to mount them elsewhere like in an empty 5.25" bay.

if you want to cheap out get the zalman r1, no its not as amazing as the phanteks but its silly like 90% cheaper, its got a stupid amount of gpu clearance.

I chucked the stuff in Partpicker and result = yes it will fit only noted issue is that your board supports USB 3 but the case Does not!

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/

The case supports USB 3.0, an updated version of the case was released that now has a USB 3.0 internal header. I can verify that it does - I have it.

All I can say is good luck. You're going to need to tear into that case to make the card fit, but this shouldn't be that much if an issue if you're planning to swap the case later on.  ;)

So it does fit without any modifications to the case? If so, I might as well get the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1. As long as it really does fit, thats all I'm bothered about, even if there's only 1mm left lol. Will having a different motherboard make any difference. Mines a P8Z68V-LX. I know it's PCI-E 2.0 only, but the GTX 970 G1 PCI-E 3.0 should still work. I measured my case and its 31cm from backplate to HD cage and the GTX 970 G1 is 297mm. So it should fit mine as well. Yet other owners of Zalman Z11 cases have had to cut away the HD cage to make the G1 fit, so I'm still confused.

The gtx970 i got was the normal Windforce Edition card NOT the G1 edition , the G1 is longer than the windforce card , so no , the G1 will not fit in the Z11 without modification , if you go for the windforce tho it will fit , its takes a bit of time to figure out how to squeeze it in , but it does fit :)

Oh well that's a bummer. The only other card I was thinking of getting is the MSI GTX 970, but loads of people are having fan and coil whine problems. I think I'll just stick with my GTX 770 and wait for other GTX 970 variants to emerge. Is the GTX 970 Windforce as good a overclocker as the G1?

Both the Windforce and G1 are big cards. The MSI is shorter. I believe the ASUS Strix is also on a similar chassis as the MSI. Be careful with all of these cards. The power plug is on the rear instead of the side and you'll have to make allowances for that.

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!
