Netflix Coming To Linux Very Soon

Opcode

Source & Source

libnss-update.png

NSS 3.17.x is being issued as a security update to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, where it replaces the older (Netflix incompatible) 3.15.4 version.

As we know already Paul Adolph has agree'd to push a case to lift Linux User-Agent filtering.

That's great news. If both 14.10 and 14.02 have a recent (> 3.16.2) version of NSS, I can make a case here to lift the User-Agent filtering which will make Netflix HTML5 play in Chrome turnkey with no hacks required. So please let me know when you get around to it.

CS:Go, Netflix, finally some much needed love for Linux.

Nice, it's a shame that it's not available in my country :( I was kind of considering a cheap linux media pc.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

vpn:D

hmm might give that a look... the main concern is bandwidth (7mbps :( ) but if it's not taxing the connection too heavily it might just be what I was looking for :) but, what about paying for the service? Wouldn't it get more complicated?

I use a VPN on a ~6mb/s connection and pay via paypal :)

I have no issues (other than the fact my paypal is now banned for annoying reasons beyond my control).
