How should I setup my fans? (Diagram Included)

cynicaltinman

I'm wondering if my current setup is effective at all. I came from a non tropical area (20-27 celsius) 2 months ago and my idle cpu temp is around 32 celsius. Now I'm at a tropical area (27-33 celsius) and my idle cpu temp is 40-50 celsius (wow).

I currently have this setup:

Can you guys help me on which fans I should set as intake or exhaust? Thanks!

It seams like you have too much positive flow and you should relay consider turning your top f12's around for negative pressure  but it depends on the speed your running them at.

Why is the Noctua L9i pointed down instead of up or back?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out what you meant... This layout looks good to me.

EDIT 2: If you have dust filters on the top, you can consider turning those into intake fans as well. For positive pressure but as it is. The layout seems reasonable. As Corsair said in their internal research that a neutral pressure flow works well.

I also wanted to reverse the cpu fan but the height of the screws it came with was either too short and too long. lol

I always wondered which orientation of the cpu fan would be more efficient. Pushing air down to the mobo or pulling air up.

I tihnk it depends on a lot of things, but with my setup I think pulling air up is a lot better since it's near the exhaust back fan. I could have both top fans on intake and I think it should be better. idk no im no expert
