Wlil an h100i cool a 4690k silently?

I am putting together a rig with the parts mentioned in the title. In most(if not all) of the h100i videos i have seen, it seemed very loud. Yes. I will probably have a mild overclock.

An AiO is not the way to go if you want quiet operation; get an air cooler like the NHD15.

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow; Motherboard: MSI ZZ490 Gaming Edge; CPU: i7 10700K @ 5.1GHz; Cooler: Noctua NHD15S Chromax; RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 32GB 3200MHz; Graphics Card: Asus RTX 3080 TUF; Power: EVGA SuperNova 750G2; Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB; Crucial M500 240GB & MX100 512GB; Keyboard: Logitech G710+; Mouse: Logitech G502; Headphones / Amp: HiFiMan Sundara Mayflower Objective 2; Monitor: Asus VG27AQ

So an aio would be louder than an air cooler? Explain.

the fans. The h100i comes with desent fans, in that they can move air. But they are not silent. I have a stock h100i sitting about 4 feet from my head, and I can hear it. The noctua air coolers, along with other high end air coolers, come with good fans. They aren't the absolute quietest on the market, but are much better than average. My buddy has a pc with an nh-u14s, and its super quiet. His stock case fans are the loudest things in there on idle.

I am currently cooling a intel i5 4690k and honestly, its not loud at all. the H100i is really good, and it has consistently kept temps low. I've only had one problem with it, which was with corsair link, but it was easily fixed.

I would recommend you to not buy an H100i.  There are a lot of problems with its mounting. Mainly, the cooler not making proper contact, which results in very high temperatures.  It often requires a washer modification to fix.  Not everyone has this problem, but enough do that I had to mention it.

I got the Corsair H105 to cool my i5 4690K at 4.5Ghz with 1.29V , and them SP120L fans were too loud, even at low settings, at least a month later i got rid of them and got 2 Bitfenix Spectre Pro 120mm PWM fans, and its far more quieter and still moves air well at lower RPM, and my case is a small Bitfenix Phenom M-ITX, but even then i still can hear the pump going... but thankfully its not as annoying as the loud stock fans that come with it.

ok, what about sp120 quiet edition fans on a h100i?

I have a i5-3570k @ 4.8 Ghz with a H100i with the SP120 fans on my case (specifically 6 SP120s and 1 SP140). Honeslty, they always run at least at 50% or more power all the time, they have lasted me a long time, and honestly, it's very quiet.

If you're concerned about how loud it may be on a mic, you shouldn't worry. With my case 1 1/2 feet away from my mic and recording with it at 80% input, I really can't hear the fans at all unless I really tried with the volume all the way up. If you're concerned about hearing them and you don't have headphones, it's really just a soft white noise in the background. I've actually fell asleep to the sound of my case fans at my desk numerous times from staying up late, and I sleep like a baby, lol.

If you are concerned that much about the fans, you can ultimately, if you want, just get the h100i with noctua fans. :P

As part of a personal opinion, I really dislike how Corsair is underestimated in benchmarks against Noctua. Don't get me wrong, Noctua is great and I don't think that Corsair should always be the choice, however when it comes to Liquid vs. Air, Corsair's liquid coolers are fantastic compared to most air solutions (one exception being Noctua). Before I overclocked my i5, I was seeing an average of ~32º on Idle, and a max load of ~65ºC on Prime95.  Now at 4.8 Ghz, I see ~43ºC Idle and ~75ºC on Prime 95. Strangely enough I got lucky with a great wafer chip, however once I try 4.9 Ghz, it suddenly requires about 40% more voltage thus creating 90º+ on Prime 95 and a slightly unstable overclock.

If you really want a good overclock (dependent on CPU), I recommend Corsair, NZXT, or your own custom loop with parts from XSPC and EKWB ^_^.

here in south africa it would cost me $300 to import a dark rock pro 3(or any other high end air cooler) so h100i is only option.
