Is it safe running a motherboard with a broken pin

I broke a pin in my motherboard a few weeks back, and since than it has been overvolting my cpu. 
Now i am OK with bsod since they only happen when the cpu is on 100% load, but is it safe for the cpu.
I don't really care either way since i upgraded to a new PC and i am actually amazed it even works, but i would like to use it as a minecraft server. 
It only crashes once ever 6h or so

I would suggest that you either get a new motherboard or attempt to fix the pin. Overvolting isn't exactly too safe when uncontrolled.

If there are problems, I would not recommend it. But on some sockets, some of the pins don't actually do anything and so the CPU will just work as usual, because nothing changed. But it sounds to me like something is broken and you should avoid using that motherboard.

Also, I'd recommend buying a new mobo, because theres a chance it can ruin your CPU, if it does then you've lost money for your CPU and Mobo. Better to  buy a new mobo then to lose your CPU And mobo. Also Asus offer a socket pin repair at a fee, if you have an Asus board.

Don't even bother with the MoBo anymore. Just buy a new one

the motherboard is 6 years old i doubt it, and the cpu is intel core 2 quad q6600

If this is hardware that is long out of warranty and you're not using it for anything urgent, why does it matter if it dies?

What are you going to do with it otherwise,, throw it away? You might as well put it to some use, but you probably shouldn't use it for anything important.

I would just suggest you get a new motherboard. You won't need something special or expensive, just a 775 board that will support all of your hardware.

That's my point. If it works good enough in its current state (even with a busted mobo pin), there's no reason to throw anything away..

 

Like I said, I wouldn't use the PC for anything urgent or important, but you might as well keep it in it's current state if it seems to be working just fine. If you are running into instability in your normal day-to-day uses, getting a functional used 775 mobo shouldn't be too expensive.
