I would but the Samsung SSD since the price of the Intel SSD isn't justified. Both will be bottlenecked at some point by sata3.

Its simple. Both SSDs are not worth the money, beceuse they dont offer anything to justify the extra cost.

If you're after best value, you go with mx100. If you need every drop of performance and you plan on writing 1TB of data every day, then going with something 850PRO is a better idea. Everything else simply makes little sense, unless it costs and performs similar to above mentioned ssds.

Intel is wildly overpriced. And to add insult, if you're buying an Intel branded ssd because it's Intel it probably isn't. The 530 uses Hynix NAND. Nothing wrong with it but there's no way that I'd pay a premium for an ssd that's the same as most 2nd tier ssd's out there just because it uses an Intel controller.

 

That said, if you can get them for the same price as the Samsung's or even better the same price as Crucial's MX100's then it's a deal and buy two!

I was considering it because I have access to some Intel stuff at reduced prices. When I was looking for this info, Intel was my only option.

 

Thankfully circumstances changed and I decided on the 840 EVO because of the plethora of positive reviews, and the higher random read IOPS. Although most information that I found said despite the on paper difference, there is almost no detectable real world difference, so get what you want.
