Hello looking for advice on whether my build is good or not. I live in the USA and my budget is around $550 I already have the case psu hard drive optical drive and CPU cooler. Just curious about the CPU mobo gpu and ram.

I suggest getting 2x8GB or 2x4GB now as you will benefit from it, the motherboard has 4 ram slots so you will be able to add 2 more 4GB modules later on to get to 16GB.

 

Also not much reason for you to get 16GB unless you are doing alot of video/photo editing and it is requiring more than 8GB.

Get a 2x4GB DDR3-1600 CAS <= 9 memory kit. This will allow for dual channel memory operation. You can add another 2x4GB or 2x8GB kit if you need to upgrade memory. A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory is currently on at a good price.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
