1tb wd blue good for mac?

my parents have a 2007 24'' imac which has a failing 500gb drive (they dont know that pc is better than mac lol), i said i can change the drive for them as i have done it to an imac before, i was looking at hard drives and noticed that seagate drives reputation isnt as good as it used to so i went for wd, looking at there ranges it seems that the 1tb wd blue drive is a good drive (mix between a green and black), the mac takes a 3.5'' drive, it also has 3gb of ram with a core 2 duo, here is what they are using the mac for

*word documents

*photo editing (photoshop)

*the odd imove video edit

*mostly web browsing 

*playing itunes music

the mac's cooling sucks so it gets hot so i want to make sure the blue runs cool

is this drive a good choice? if not suggest me another drive (not a seagate please i have had 3 go bad on me)

Any drive will do brand doesn't matter. If you want cooler running and quieter i'd go Green personally.

i would go for the 1tb blue right now because on amazon it is 50$ instead of 60$

Blues fine, you could go with a barracuda or seagate hybrid. I have the WD Green and once your computer is up and everything is started its fine but me personally have tons of desktop customizers and start-up programs that max out my Green for 3-7 minutes and make my computer super slow for that period of time.

Any drive will do brand doesn't matter. If you want cooler running and quieter i'd go Green personally. 

arent greens meant to be slow? loads of people seem to complain about the auto head parking after a few seconds of inactivity

No, they're fast after all of your start-up programs are up and running. Mine never freezes and stuff opens up almost instantaneously

Yeah, i run a 500GB Green and edit photos, watch movies and open up a lot of big programs and it handles it fine.
