Do you wear glasses? If you don't you should have your eyes tested you might find that you need them.

I had this problem with an old Samsung TV which had by far the worst TN panel I've seen in my life (it was free) then I got a LG with an ISP and I no longer have the problem when watching movies so it might be the panel in the monitor.

you can get a filter to put over the monitor, it does help according to all the bean counters I know. I don't know if this applies to gaming but don't see why it wouldn't. I use to have an issue with eye strain till I got my monitor settings dialed in for comfort but it certainly was not ideal for gaming.

If you can stop using your computer for a few days, maybe you could find out if it's not the monitors and your eyes are just dry.

You can try f.lux . That or tweak the colour settings on your monitor. (Tip start with lowering blues)

I also had the same problem since I work as an editor for a small broadcasting company. So I basically look at multiple monitors for 8 hours a day + an average of 4 hours at home for personal use. The monitors I use at work are high-quality professional IPS panels so the panel type wasn't what caused my headaches and eye-aches.

I bought one of the Gunnar glasses and it helped out a lot. The downside is, everything has a yellowy tint. But the headaches and eye-aches went away. Also, I don't have to keep my eyes hydrated with eye-drops as much anymore.

Could you calibrate the monitors to make it look normal through your gunnar glasses? Like mess around with the rgb settings

To get rid of the yellow tint? I highly doubt it. Once you get used to it, it's not too bad. I usually take off the glasses for professional work and movie watching. But things like web browsing and gaming, I don't even notice it anymore.

Just a little advice, don't buy LG, because the colors are strangely overly bright it will burn your eyes. My eyes watered for the entirety of three days before i decided to return it.

I use a program called "flux." It's extremely useful for eyestrain at night. It basically makes your screen a shade of orange at night, and gives you some in-Windows hotkeys to change the screen brightness. If you really want to keep the visual clarity of games at night, ask someone else, as I'm not sure what the proper solution would be.
