My Corsair H80 mod

overdrive

Edit: New pictures here (Changed the reservoir just for looks)

My Corsair H80 pump started rattling a while back and I got a replacement. Now the replacement started rattling again.

Whats the solution, .....

As Linus says, Guetto Mod it.

Without further ado here it is.

First I removed the pump from the cpu block, to better the water flow. (I left the base part of the pump, so it would not leak)

Used a Dc-Lt pump with the alphacool Top Plexi, connected to a reservoir. Then ran the tubes to the original locations.

Tubes used were Koolance ID 6.4 mm (1/4), OD 9.5 mm (3/8)

Sorry for the crappy pictures, took them with my cellphone directly to photobucket. Hope you like it.

By the way, The corsair Light up Logo is on just for show. It is not connected to the pump or the fans :)

Added the second Fan now that i got a controller, and the temps are:

28* in idle, and 52* during intel burn test on high setting. :) :) :)

Havent logged in for a while. Basically I started this rig back in 2011, I wasted all my money on i7 , maximus MB and the 600t. So had to choose middle tier stuff for the rest of the components. Been building it up since then. Now finally getting up to properly watercool the CPU and GPu's.

But couldnt wait to see the new reservoir inside so I redid the Mod in the meantime I get the new rad's and block's.

You can see Here if you like.
