Laptop for $500

I'm looking to buy my girlfriend a laptop for around $500. She won't be using it for gaming, however I would like as much bang for my buck. What are the best options out there? I would say at least a Quad Core CPU, 8GB ram and integrated graphics is an option however better if not.

She would happily settle for a crappy laptop, however I wont, I want something that will last and wont restrict her too much.

This is basicly your needs, its a litter over $500 though. It may be a scaerfice you need to take.

What will she use it for? You might be better off just getting an iPad and Bluetooth keyboard tbh. The iPad is actually really powerful, well supported, and fun to use. The only “normal” task it is bad at is spreadsheets.
