Is my 8600K a Unicorn? I'm in the Userbenchmark 100 Percentile.

Here's my Userbenchmark score: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/12363279

This is done with a brand new i5 8600K, not delidded, not using a custom loop.

Here's my case: https://ibb.co/hfp00V

Here's my P95 tests:

https://i.redd.it/5shsybnrya021.png

https://imgur.com/u7HllpO

(AVX Offset set to 0, 1.375v vCore hitting a power limit)

So, I see that it downclocks on certain tests. I'm not exactly sure what that is tied to- maybe the power limit being hit? The system has yet to crash at all under every test I've done. Is this chip really a golden chip or is there a setting I'm missing?

I just checked userbenchmark's top benches... (not sure why I'm not posted there), but my bench that I shared tops their #1 spot for performance. So, I believe you're right.

you ended up with a golden chip its always a good day when you find that hardware that clocks up past all expectation and with a i5 binned chip that's even better.

that chip can probably hit 5.4 when delidded, so probably top 3%

I'm afraid to do anything to this chip like delidding, because I feel like I'd wake up from this dream if I did. ?

yap, not suggesting you do, as it's minimal improvements from 5.2-5.4.

As long as you get a solid delidder then it would be great for the chip so you can keep temps down at your current clockspeed. I'd also love to see if you really did get a golden chip so seeing that thing at 5.4 would be pretty exiting.

Wanna trade for the 8086K? ? I'll probably get a delidder and do it myself after Christmas. I want to have fun with the computer first. I've been without a system for a few weeks now!

I already sold it and built my current system, nice try though ;)

1.375V thats a lot of voltage. my chip can go 5.1ghz @ 1.35, but i keep it at 5 for a nice round number. delidded so its nice and cool at ~70c.

Not bad. I tried to get it at 5.2 at 1.36, but that had core 4 unstable with prime95. Even at 1.375, my temps never go into the 70s. Idle they are in the 30s and in the 50s/60s under load. I'd push the OC further, but I just don't like the voltage required.

my temps are bad because my fan curve is really really wonky. its like 10% until 60c lol

nice chip, I would just try to put it at 5ghz, If you plan on delidding, derb8er's delid die mate 2 is great and easy to use.

its 32$ rn. make sure to get a silicone glue, and liquid metal/really good thermal paste.

The fan curve will definitely get you in the end! Are you doing anything special for cooling?
