Need Help Ugrading RAM

So I already have a 2 x 4gb kit of Crucial Ballistix ram dual channel kit. My question is, can I buy another dual channel kit, another 2 x 4gb kit, for a total of 16gb of ram and stand any chance of it working? So combine 2 dual channel kits basically. I have read a ton of differing opinions. Some say absolutly wont, some say it might, some say who knows. I am willing to buy a used kit and giving it a chance if it has even a little bit of a chance of working. I had a 2 x8gb kit but it went bad. And i had the 2 x 4gb handy/ So my other option is buying another 2x 8gb kit new for basically double the used 2 x 4gb kit sets. Let me know your thoughts, thanks folks!

Also my specs are in the sig

In all likelyhood it will work just fine. Buy the same speed rather than lower. Both kits will run at the slower speed of the two. Ive never had a problem with mixing brand, speed, or size.

it should work, as long as the board has 4 working slots. You can even get quad channel working.

If you are buying another of the same kit than yes it will most likely work, but if they are different brands, you just have to test it out

They will work, even if they are different brands, different speeds, different timings and different capacities. The only requirement is that your system run them at the same speed/timings.

Awesome, thanks. I kind of figured they would work but I wanted to ask before I dropped the money and it had no chance of working or something. I mean its only $50 but $50 is $50 for an expensive paperweight haha.
