What should a I get for a secondary storage?

mayonnaiseblackhole

I used a 500gb Sandisk Ssd plus for a build I made over the summer. I am looking to add some more for Christmas but am not sure which one. Should I get a hard drive or Ssd and how much?

Amount isn't something i can tell you, since idk what you do.

ssd can benefit loads of applications, but your already have an ssd so i guess ur os is on it.

so... idk. What do you do?

I may be wrong.

depends on what you want to do, a 7200 rpm hdd is fast enough for most things. but a 1 tb sata ssd is always faster. depends on your budget mostly

The standard setup is 240GB SSD for OS and programs 500GB/1TB SSD for games and 2-4 TB HDD mass storage.

scale up/down from there to budget.

i5 8600 - RX580 - Fractal Nano S - 1080p 144Hz

I am on a budget but I don’t want to buy something that will not last me. Most of the storage will be used for games and mass storage. On my computer I mainly game, use the internet, and edit a video once in while. Is a 1 terrabite ssd worth it or should I go for more hard drive storage and what do you suggest?

What sort of motherboard do you have? If you're limited to SATA you might consider some sort of hybrid...Newegg has the 2TB SSHD Firecuda's on sale for $79.99 right now so one of those might be a good middle-ground.

Edit: Link to Newegg for FireCuda 2TB
