How to reinstall Windows?

Go to solution Solved by asand1,

You really don't need to reinstall. Windows 10 will detect hardare and download drivers. You can also run the installer to "repair" your installation.

Hey everyone, so I have my ryzen parts ready for the swap, and I will be reusing everything other than well the new parts (CPU, motherboard and ram). I have two HDDs, one Seagate 500GB (slower HDD), and a 2TB WD Black HDD (Preferred). I have my OS on the Seagate drive. I have never installed an OS on already populated drives so here is what I think I have to do? Please correct me if I am wrong.

- Rebuild PC with new parts

- Have the WD drive installed with an empty partition

- Plug in a USB with a free copy of Windows 10 installed

- Install OS on the empty partition

- Log into windows account to activate windows

- Restart PC with the Seagate drive installed

- Reformat the drive

Is this correct?

You should really spend 20$ on an SSD.

Just plug in all the drives at once and wipe them in the windows ISO

I would if I could, will be starting to work part time sometime soon so maybe an SSD will be possible in the future. How much space would I need for an OS drive? Is 120GB plenty?

Operating system and a few programs will fit fine on a 120gb drive
