What should i install Windows on?

I'm about to buy a new computer and i'm not sure about how many ssd's i should buy and what i should install windows on. Should i buy 2 ssd's with one only for windows and one for my files? or can i go with just one drive for my operating system and all of my files, and if i do this will there be any kind of performance hit like slowing down my ssd?

I would get 1 bigger size ssd, rather than two smaller ones. Higher the capacity more SSD's last.

Typically people go for 1 ssd + 1 hdd. Windows + Programs on the SSD, and files + games on the hdd. This does not impact the performance of the SSD. People have done smaller SSD + larger SSD as @Levent mentioned. You can also do two ssd's in RAID 0 (strip) to make one big drive, but then you risk losing files due to a single drive failure.

Well if your motherboard can handle it.. a nice M.2 drive for the OS like the Samsung 970 evo can pick the 250gb versions pretty cheap in the black Friday sales at the moment and then maybe a 1TB SSD for some games.

People usually go for two as its nice to keep the OS drive clean and not blocked up with tons of games and programs.
