Ubuntu 18.10 docky issue

i just dual-booted my macbook with Ubuntu 18.10, but i can't get Docky to work. 

it installs fine but it won't launch.

a whole bunch, like 50 lines of stuff. i'll post the output in a bit. i currently have to do something in macOS so... can't check at the moment.
