So I've watched a video about the future possibility of a future release of a fully blown macbook with apples integrated 12x chipset. Now the video in it's own right is quite interesting but there's been some rumors or speculation about the possibility of a future macbook running apple's mobile processor. I think its quite fascinating but I also believe in would help apple alot in there current state. I mean frankly, I think alot of people can agree whenever if your an apple user or not that there is a BIG group of people that really, really dislike apple myself included.

Now, why exactly would you put apple's integrated mobile chipset inside one of there macbook's or even iMac's? Well there points from this video but I have some other points as well.

Apple makes these chips themselves and they pay less money instead of buying directly from intel but as for the consumer well Intel is struggling with cpus and the majority of consumers are sort of stuck with intel I think alot of people can agree on. I mean, intel has been getting pretty bad rep lately. I mean, Intel literally unveiled serious production problems with its 10nm processors and there delayed until next year. And despite's Intel's best efforts, Apple has managed to get there 12x processor the 7nm process treatment so quite frankly, individuals that are somewhat knowledgeable about computers will probably give this a thumbs up including people that don't really like apple, myself included.

So what about performance? Well geekbench says that Apple's 7nm beast is equivalent to an i7 4690k

i7 4690k:710692009_ScreenShot2018-11-19at12_08_14AM.png.1f8c3f4fbf7fd94224131d29ba0af177.png

Apple's 12x Processor:

So I think we can all agree that if Apple ditches Intel and just works on there own processors and really does implementate this into there products I think they will be alot more successful. However,

Apple needs to lower there fucking prices and listen to there consumers otherwise I can see alot more people fucking off apple.

My current code projects

  • C#/OpenGL ( using OpenTK graphics library API ) KnightsRealm ( unfinished, WIP plan on releasing on steam maybe a mobile port idk ) 2d topdown pixel art based game with medieval themes, sorcery, dragons, open world
  • C++ crypter ( if your into cryptography, I plan on releasing this on my website later :P
  • C#/OpenGL ( OpenGL for UI ) fan/light controller for my room w/ raspberry pi and some mechanical motors and stuff :D

Current repair projects

  • My dreadful receiver ( a capacitor blew )
  • working on a PC from a client, CPU died within the system, seems like a short, replaced CPU and awaiting payment before I ship it back
  • my old 1tb sas drive for my NAS, some blemishes or something on the PCB need to clear that back out, if it doesn't work i'll need to scrap it ( already backed up all my stuff thankfully )

i7-4670K?

There is NO i7-4670K ... only the i5-4670K.

There is the i7-4770K and i7-4790K, though.

4th generation Core i series first launched in 2013 -- that is 5, almost 6, years ago.

7nm ARM CPU  vs.  2013 22nm x86 CPU?

Don't get me wrong, though, this is still exciting news.

According to geekbench, yes. And also, I am disappointed that techlinked hasn't gifted us such knowledge yet. Hey but fuck the fact that it was made in 2013, its still fucking awesome as shit.

Basically Rene covered everything I would say, lol.

We aren't likely to see a fully ARM based Mac, more so Macs that are being helped by ARM co-processors that pick up Intels slack. Apple already does this with the T2 Chip.

Problem with ARM is if it actually had to run x86 code it would be much much slower.

I actually didn't know that, well perhaps there could be work arounds of some sort.

So there would be a need to develop another version of macOS just for ARM processors. I mean, look at how bad Windows 10 for ARM chips right now. If Apple could find a way to get x86-64 architecture for their next generation of CPUs, at that small package, at that same performance, and somehow not screwing up their macOS for ARM CPUs (if there are one), then it would be much more exciting.

Precisely, but due to apple's past actions, and just in general not listening to the majority of there consumers do you really think they will actually implementate this into there imacs and macbooks and what and what not?

Will they really make the effort to create a entirely new operating system, ground up just so they can fuck around with there around with there mobile chipsets? Well you see, apple knows there consumers, mostly dull-witted in tech knowledgy ( not all apple consumers ( plz no hate ) ) and probably just wants a simple face book machine that looks neat or maybe some video editing or something along those lines. And alot of those people- the majority of apples consumers probably don't give two fucks about whats in there hardware and just wants what they need in a nice ass slim form factor that runs a basic operating system that looks slick and unique. Correct me if I'm wrong, but apple aims mostly for this group of individuals as it provides more pay. But if apple can possibly gain ahold of even people that dislike apple ( maybe not everybody ) then they could get alot more people, maybe I'm wrong. But fuck, all I know is that apple would probably get alot more money and for apple well, thats quite good.

So if apple actually considers this for two seconds and stops smuggling crack through their fucking asses and decides to listen, then maybe they'll actually impletemetate this.
