i cant decide what CPU to get! need some advice please.

Im going to upgrade my rig very soon, but after seeing the new 9900x launch from Intel im not sure what to get anymore.

 

the choices are Intel core i9 7940x(1500USD)  or  i9 9920x(1587USD)       or   threadripper 2950x(1169USD, where i live).
                                                                        14 Core, 4.4Ghz                 12Core, 4,4 GHZ(best Singlecore)              16 core, 4.4 GHz (worst single core)

my main prio is Single core performance but without dropping off too much in multi. but looking at the pricing its kinda huge difference. 

and then im not sure if my kraken x52 could mount to a TR, without buying new parts. or if my kraken (moded with 2x 240rads) could deal with the heat. 

 

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated and helpfull

Its abit more than what i wanted to pay for a cpu

NZXT and Tom's Hardware both claim a Kraken x52 will be fine for TR
