Being new to this, I'd like to hear some recommendations when it comes to gaming setups. Dealing with a rather small space for the situation, I've been eyeing towards gaming laptops and not exactly desktops. I'd like to know what brands, specs, ect. more experienced hobbyists have had good results with, especially with FPS and overall speed. Also wondering about any recommended Linux based operating systems.

Glad you asked, I have a $3000 MacBook Pro 15", which I use with an Apple Magic Mouse 2 and an LG ultrawide and a Microsoft Keyboard. It's from Apple and does not run Linux at all.

Gets 60+ fps in Starcraft 2 on ultra, and runs Starcraft Remastered very well. Handles CSGO like a champ, and I can put the render distance in Minecraft all the way up.

The budget would be about 1000-1500, of course im looking for any recommended laptop models, but desktops may be fine. When it comes to mice, that would be useful. So far I've already found about two to three laptop models, and I've been listing down a list of good graphics cards/CPUs along with general notes. Sorry if this post is a bit redundant.

If you're listing a desktop setup, I wouldn't mind a few recommendations for  monitors/keyboards either. Again, this post isn't going to be my only source of information/choice, I'm just reaching out for some opinions/tips that could guide me along.

Whatever you get recommended make sure it has an SSD!
