Hi LinusTechTips Forum,

I am not actually using a PC to game, I am using a laptop. I was at my friend's house and he showed me about CS:GO. I really wonder if I can run on my laptop?

I am using a Lenovo U41-70 80JV, Windows 10 Pro, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU 2.20GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500GB HDD and Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 2128MB.

About the game, I know I have to buy it on Steam.

Thanks for supporting me!

Run, probably. CSGO isn't the most demanding game ever made.

Run at a decent frame rate and resolution, not with those specs.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

at 720p or 900p you should run it fine-ish, I've used to run it back in the days on a old AMD Turion ii 2,4Ghz with integrated ati mobility HD4200 and it ran at around 30fps on 720p, it wasn't good for competitive games but enough for fun one's.

A GT1030 is a lot more powerful than the integrated graphics on an i5 5200U, if you can't advise someone properly, please, simply don't.

I dont think its gonna be that bad. Even an old HD 4600 can do way better than that.

I have a laptop with the exact settings people should stop thinking CS:GO will run on the hundreds of fps in every thing.
