Hi guys , I need help to connect an old cd system I have to my new PC, the mobo is an Asus rog z370-f gaming . The speakers are wired and they connect directly to the amplifier of the CD system.

I want to know if there is a way to connect them directly to my mobo and use the built in dac to have a nice 5.1 sound set up , instead of using a 3.5 to RCA.

This are pictures of the connectors of my  mobo and the sound system.

Thanks.

Do you want to connect the CD Player to the PC? Because that's kinda pointless.

If you want to connect the speakers to the PC then you'd have to buy a different external amplifier.

tbh though, just get some $20 speakers and a CD drive for your PC for another $10 and you are better off.

Nope , I don't want to use the CD , I want to route the audio coming from the PC to the bookshelf speakers of the audio system, in order to have 5.1 sound .

Well as there are no Input options on that thing i'm afraid you can't do that. If the AUX thingy is Input then you still won't get 5.1 because AUX is Stereo.

*i am stupid and there actually is Input, still looks shady af though and you still need some (active?) adapter for it to work.

TBH though, this thing looks kinda shady anyways.

The good news is, if you already have 5 + 1 Speakers you can get a different Audio Receiver and use an USB Input from your PC to output Multi Channel to your speakers.

That's hard to answer since I don't know what your local electronics store has. Generic cables are fine, but if they feel too cheap then get something better. Usually cheap cables will have a plastic insulator and higher end ones will have rubber/silicone or even braided.

That also sounds interesting, what audio receiver do you have in mind?? Thanks .
