Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero did I just made mistake?

speed258

Hello today I just received my Asus Maximus XI Hero I paid 381 USD for this mobo, after watching some reviews it showed that this board has only 4 VRM and they are pretty hot should I return or keep it? There some people reviews which says this board is very good and they are happy to use it. So can anyone advice me?

Return it, that's a ridiculous price for what it is. This board is an excellent buy for $200, average buy for $250, silly deal for more than $300

Good, sell the board to those people if you can't return it or you get much less back.

What should I take instead thinking about MSI side?

Just core VRM, it's stronger. 12 phases of 40A powerstages after all (while m11H has 8 phases worth of 50A powerstages), build quality's similar. Of course it has disadvantages, namely memory overclocking (talking about 3866mhz+) and a bios with a steep learning curve.

But I want to keep posibility to upgrade my cpu to i9 in the future when intel prices drops, and Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Master is worth a shot?

Would the extreme4 be the second best option for the 8600k?

What do you think about the msi pro carbon?

extreme4 IS the best for 8600k.

MSI Z370 Carbon is much inferior. Z390 Carbon is on par with Extreme4
