Do FE 980ti and 1080ti have the same pcb layout?

Hi, i am planning to upgrade my 980ti to a 1080ti, and i see these 2 cards pcb looks the same, i was wondering if i can put my 980ti waterblock on 1080ti?

The screw holes are a bit different, notice the one to the right of the main vrm is offset on the 1080ti and inline on the 980ti.

 

The big issue is the mian mounting holes, those need to be exactly the same.

 

Also the vrm, memory and chip thickness may be different and cause you to crack a chip with pressure.

 

It may fit, but its not exactly the same, do you want to risk damaging the card.

yeah i noticed that 1 mounting hole difference, but other than that i found 0 difference, especially on that dvi port position.

Of course i don't want to damage the card, i'm just trying to save another $150 on a waterblock if possible.

Not close in anyway.
