Question on monitor ghosting

Hi all,

I have recently bought a new monitor, which has a 144Hz 1440p VA panel. Now I have found that this monitor has some ghosting using the testufo ghosting test. At 60Hz it is not really noticeable unless I compare it directly to my other monitor which has zero ghosting. At 1440p I do see a bit of a dark trail in the top one and a light trail in the bottom one.

Now my problem is that I don't really know how to judge this. When I look at reference photo's I often see the worst monitors which have 2 complete ufo's, and in the best cases there is no trail whatsoever.

Can anyone point me to some images or explanation on how to judge the ghosting on this monitor? I can't really say that I see ghosting while playing games, but I do notice some stuff and I am not sure whether this is just placebo since I have seen the ufo test or whether there is actually any ghosting.

Thanks :)

As @JohnDongus said if you can't notice it while gaming or while doing anything else then you are good. IF you can clearly notice it then you should be worried. Because it is an feature in VA panels.

Well I kinda feel like I notice it in some games but not in others, which doesn't really make sense. Especially since I should be noticing it more in darker games (like Doom) than lighter games (like CS:GO) but it's exactly the other way around. I don't notice the stuff from the UFO test in games though. I just can't really figure out what acceptable performance is, specifically in the ufo test.

I'd personally return a monitor that has ghosting since I notice it a lot, and I'd get a monitor without a ghosting problem.
