Background:

I have acquired pieces for my next build over 2 years with everything bought in sale (All I need is CPU and memory)

The new build will be a Sim rig on a different desk this way I can leave my steering wheel or flight sim stuff on the desk when I'm not using it.

I am going to use my 'old' current system for playing non controller games.

My current gaming rig had a 1070 in it. The only spare cards I have laying around are some old R7 260x's and a ancient 69xx card...These will not bode well with today's games.

I was hoping to get a evga 1080ti (for new system) for cheap black Friday weekend but they seem to be gone. Looking at the highest evga 1080 is also gone...

My question: coming from basically no GPU is a 2070 worth considering given the new-ness of the card compared to the dying stock of the 10 series cards?

Tldr:

coming from basically no GPU is a 2070 worth considering given the new-ness of the card compared to the dying stock of the 10 series cards?

Thanks!

Chris R.
