Hello. I always wanted rtx 2080 as the next best thing. RTX 2080 TI is really expensive. Stores are pulling their 1080TIs from shelves to push 20xx series so 1080ti is no option for me anymore not even used ones.

I play at 2560 x 1440 at 144hz so extra fps is always good but ...

 

Prices:

RTX 2080 is 1000 dollars

RTX 2070 is 708 dollars

According to benchmarks the fps difference is at 2K aproximatelly 10-15 fps less than 2080 depending on the game.

 

I feel like price/performance wise the 2070 is much better buy here. 

 

What do you think?

the problem is that the 2070 faces way more competition down there. There's 2 Vegas, 1070ti and 1080, all a little slower but more affordable.

No here in my country. They put very similar prices for similarly performing cards...

It isn't a case of them taking 1080Ti away, just that as they are sold they are not getting replaced.

 

I own Vega 56, 1070, 1080Ti, 2070. Vega's potential advantage is if you want to pair to a cheaper FreeSync monitor than stretch for a G-sync one if you wanted to on nvidia. Otherwise I can't say I'm a fan of it, the FE versions run rather hot and noisy. Maybe after market ones are better, if you can find them at all at a reasonable price.

 

On the green side, I have to say my daily game system still runs the 1080Ti and I have no complaints about that. The 2070 has shown to be more power efficient in general, especially outside of gaming uses. If you should focus on RTX or not depends in part on how much you think the new features will be needed or used within its life. It is worth noting the 2080 like 2080Ti has a higher rated RT performance than the 2070. If price/performance is about same for Pascal and Turing cards, I'd lean towards 2070 or 2080 depending on how you feel the usage of RT will develop in the near future.

But if you actually use the ray tracing you take a massive performance hit, thus negating any gains.
