Troubleshooting need help :<

Hi. I just recently installed a new graphics card and I noticed that my graphics card doesn't have a VGA output which my monitor solely supports. So I rushed out to the store and bought a HDMI to VGA adapter. It worked but there is this violet line flickering from the near top, middle and to the near bottom of my screen. I'm wondering what could have caused this.

I have a image attached below. It flickers from the near top. Middle and near bottom.

Should I buy a new adapter? A monitor? Or there is something in my graphics card that could have been faulty.

By the way sorry if I posted this in the wrong wall. I'm new to this place.

(P.S)I already posted this at the "display monitors" section but sadly no one yet was able to give advice. I was thinking maybe some forum members might be more focused in this section so I reposted it here. Sorry for that?

If you know for sure that the monitor is fine and for sure that the graphics card works then the adapters at fault. Otherwise you can find a display with a supported GPU adapter (like a TV w/ HDMI) and see if the lines are still there. If so something's wrong with the GPU.

I just swapped back to my old graphics card. The lines are no longer there. My GPU was sent to me by a friend and he said it works perfectly fine before he packed the gpu for shipping. I was thinking that it probably is the adapter since the monitor is fine. also when I was using the adapter I'm only getting this 1024x700 as my native resolution which is completely frustrating cause everything looks blurred out. and the monitors resolution is 1366x768.
