So I finally got my 9900k today.  I noticed something a little weird when I was temp testing.  When I use AIDA64 to stress the CPU&FPU, I see it instantly turbo up to right around 4.7GHz, which is what I would expect.  However after about 15-20 seconds it drops its clocks to about 4.1GHz and then just stays there.  Temps seem fine, when its at a full 4.7 most of the cores are around 85C with one or two flirting with 90C.  AIDA64 shows no thermal throttling.  If I just do a stress CPU and not the FPU it seems to just go up to 4.7 and stay there.  I have run a few benchmarks and they seem like they are right where they should be for this processor at stock.

Is this weird behavior? or just something I am missing?

I think if you were watching power you might see it lowering itself to its TDP of 95W.  Gamers Nexus just did a video about Z390 boards and he touches on this.

Yeah, I just figured this out.  There is a setting you can adjust to turn it off.  I think its probably fine, during normal use its not an issue, only when I push it with CPU+FPU.  A CPU only load or just regular usage while gaming has no issues.  Thanks.
