I'm looking to build a PC for a friend for the holidays so he can join me in PC gaming. I'm hoping to stay under $550. I have peripherals already for the PC. I don't care on the brand or company making the major parts, as long as they fall in budget. 

 

I have no experience in the budget department of PC building, as I don't personally care about budget for my own builds. 

Rig 1: i7-9700k OC'd to 5.0ghz all core | EVGA XC RTX 2080Ti | ADATA DDR4 2400mhz 4x8gb | ASUS PRIME Z370-P | Asetek 550LC 120mm | ADATA 480GB SSD & Toshiba P300 3TB | Cooler Master Masterbox MB500 | Win 10 Home | Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum, G502 Proteus Spectrum, G933 Artemis Spectrum Snow Wireless Limited Edition, Corsair MM300 Mouse Pad | 2 MSI Optix Curved 27" FHD Monitors

Used? You can get a cheap GPU/CPU for current gen parts on eBay, like a Ryzen 3 1200 or 1300x, a new B350 board, some ram, and a GTX 960 or 970 for a decent price.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

i don't care about used/new, as long as it'll game at 60fps on low (thats all that matters) as well as basic computing tasks.

Ok, you should look up some used prices for the stuff I mentioned and see if they for in your budget

Used is a good option but you'd have to hunt down the parts and such.

 

Here is a rig that should do fine that can also be upgraded down the line.
