Teamviewer equivalent

 Is there other options of a Teamviewer type program even if its a paid version I'm just trying to be able to access my unRAID server but I don't currently have the skill set to get it working, I've tried a ton of options but networking lingo is not my area I've tried port forwarding even had Verizon tech try with open VPN no go I would upgrade my router in a heartbeat if I knew it was my issue but just not sure for instance I am running Plex on unRAID and port 32400 is open and working so that I can access Plex anywhere I've watch a ton of youtube videos but they all seem the suggest that some of the setting up issues you are already aware of and don't go through the complete start to finish sequence I really thought Teamviewer would do it for me and I still think it will but can't find enough information like what is my public IP? my router shows a public IP on the main screen or am I supposed to use the computer IP for the one I want to wake up I've tried both but fail miserably any good tutorials that are known would b glad to hear of it

Your external (WAN) IP can be found by browsing to whatsmyip.org. Once ports are forwarded properly, you can then connect to that IP with the accompanying port to get to the resource that's behind it. 

 

Teamviewer works regardless of open ports. You only need an ID and password. Alternatives include VNC server and viewer and if you want direct command line access, PuTTY. Those two do require proper forwarding.

What exactly is your problem then? PLEX not strreaming correctly can be solved without teamviewer (or other)

No Plex is fine I would like access to my NAS from outside the network, I setup teamveiwer and it works great at home I access the NAS which is headless through my windows machine setup with wake on lan but can't seem to get it working from outside my network for instance from work.

I'll give that a go and see how it goes
