I just received my Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming in the mail, I had to remove the fans/heat sink and blackplate to attach the liquid cooler from NZXT, I'm going to go ahead an assume this clear plastic film on the backplate should've been removed at the factory?

Before setting up the liquid cooler, I noticed the idle temps were 39c and thought damn that's a hot card. I think this explains why partially. Now with the liquid cooler my idle temps are 27c.

Gigabyte doesn't make the best GPUs tbh.

Good that you changed the cooling.
