My 3570K is currently running at 4.4Ghz and its 100% 24/7 stable but i feel as if I could push this chip further but i don't know how. getting it to 4.4 was easy and when i tried to push it further i had problems but i feel as if I tweak the voltage settings and maybe the base clock a bit I could pull a bit more out fo this chip and maybe hit 4.6. Anyways I know how to overclock but im not a super advanced overclocker i dont quite know all of the "fine tuning" for extreme overclocking.

sorry for typos im being lazy right now.

Do it slowly and stress test always.

That is not how i did it originally i was lazy and just dialed in a setting and it worked. But now i want to get a bit more out of this chip but I don't know exactly what to change because the chip already runs fast and it does not get that hot.

If you go past 4.6 you are going to have to tweak the voltage.

keep going with the multiplier overclocking. when it blue screens give it 0.025v more up to 1.3v as long as your temps don't go over 80c under full load. once you get to 4.8ghz, if you ever do, come back and you can start on the base clock to get it to 4.9/5ghz, but i'm pretty sure you won't get to that stage on ivy unless your under water or delided .

I'm already at 1.325v and the temps are low never above 60 at full load. I think my motherboard voltage is off because its a Z68 board not a Z77 and the current bios is very beta but its the only one I can OC with.

that seems too high for 4.4ghz. just keep upping the multiplier until it blue screens at that voltage, then knock it back down 100mhz and do a longer stress test.

I don't know if I wont the silicon lottery here but this board does not want to keep a stable voltage at 1.325v it is.

Yeah. It seems like you didn't make out with a good chip.

Mine won't get to 4.4 unless it has at least 1.225v and when I put it up to 4.5, it suddenly requires 1.360v to be stable. =/

I tried to get it to 4.6+ and it was going over 1.414v (temps were in the 85-90's with an H100i@1000RPM w/SP120's and Prime95, which is apparently acceptable) but that kind of voltage scares me. DX

My chip does not get hot even at 1.325 but it does not seem to be stable higher or if it can be stable my settings are not fine tuned enough.
