Hello, I am not very experienced with tech related things but I was wondering is it better to get an SSD and then an HDD, or an SSD and HDD Combo, or one or the other? Also to the SSD and HDD Combo if one of them dies does the whole thing die? Would be amazing if someone could awnser these questions for me. I am a gamer so really just looking for all around good performance and reliability.

I am getting a computer off of Cyperpowerpc.com and they talk about SDD + HDD combo. I am assuming it is what people call a hybrid drive possibly and SSHD?

Get a separate drive. Get id get a external hdd and use that for backups or use a cloud solution.

Screenshot? Im guessing there combo is 2 seprate drives if it says soemthing like 250GB + 1TB.

So is it a hybrid or two seperate drives because I don't want to have my whole computer shit out on me if either the HDD or the SDD breaks.

2 separate drives.

You still need backups though

Is it important to have a backup drive? and based on those drives how big should my back up drive be. Also thank you for answering all my questions totally new and anxious around buying a new computer.

Depends how big your C drive. Do you want to backup your entire OS along with your important files or just important files alone?

Everything OS are fucking expensive lol

I see you are about to get a new PC with a 500GB SSD for OS, I would get a 1TB external HDD which is not very expensive. I would also invest a USB drive as well for important files backup just in case your external backup drive malfunction. Better be safe than sorry.

I recommend AOMEI free backupper or Macrium Reflect Free. These two are pretty good, although Macrium Reflect Free offer more options and features than AOMEI, but both are still pretty good for a free home solution.
